bob harbinson is currently working with the Vietnamese artist Duy Viet.  the book of their work "Direction Zero", now in final print draft,
is a result of a close friendship that has developed between them. It is a collaboration via internet of contrasting styles and media crafts :
the romantic optimism and stark calligraphic art of Duy Viet, with the dry indifference and multimedia composites of bob harbinson :
art reflected in the zen-taoist existences of both authors.
"Direction Zero" is being produced strictly as a non-profit charity aid venture. It will be a limited edition collectors' quality art  book,
numbered, stamped, and signed by the authors.

All proceeds of sales will be donated to sponsor-nominated charities in Lamdong Province, Vietnam, focused on surgery and support for genetic
victims of Agent Orange -  that is children with cleft palates and other deformities. A major sponsor will be the Sofitel Accor Hotels and Resorts
through the generous interest of  Antoine Sirot, General Manager of the 5-star Sofitel Dalat Palace.

                                               Duy Viet was born in Dalat, Lamdong Province, Vietnam.                                                   
 He is an acclaimed intellectual, calligrapher and zen thinker,                                    
who grows orchids & tends bonsais at his villa,    
(the Stop ‘n Go Café in Dalat) where he lives with his wife,  
5 dogs, a cat, clear air and a romantic sense of humor.  
He has previously worked in Saigon as a journalist,  
and held executive positions in local government.  
When younger, he was a prolific artist and sculptor, 
as the exhibits and media clippings in his villa testify.  
Today he focuses on poetic calligraphy in the zen style,  
   and meeting the many visitors that respect and fame attract.
